Financial Update
- All National Night Out (NNO) expenses were covered from the ESHA budget.
- The $300 rent for the Houston Brethren Church has been paid for 2026 quarterly meetings.
METRO Update
- New routes to IAH and Hobby airports are launching soon.
- The Community Connector service continues to be popular and available in our area. One popular use case is that it’s being used for school pickup/drop-offs. Tell a neighbor who relies on public transit to get around!
City of Houston / Castillo’s Office Update
- Recycling delays are expected to resolve within a week.
- Residents can request new recycling bins or drop off old ones — click here to see the flyer for details.
- The Good Neighbor Program offers help with lawn care and property clean-up for seniors, veterans, disabled residents, and widows. Applications are available on the District H website.
- Tree planting projects will be part of the Resilient H program — apply here.
- Illegal dumping: District H now has a dedicated Hot Team with two staff members. Report dumping to 311 first, then notify Castillo’s office.

Park Update
- Construction bids open October 24 and are due November 20.
- A construction vendor will be selected in December.
- Construction is planned to begin in February 2026.
- The total park budget is $2.487 million.
- Construction is expected to take nine months, and all permits have been approved.
National Night Out (NNO) Update
- The children’s artwork from NNO will be posted soon.
- A thank-you will be created for Shaun Brennan at Dan Electro’s for their support.

- ESHA is seeking new Board members. Elections will take place in January 2026.
Other Updates
- Drainage: No questions were raised.
- Tree Planting: Castillo’s office is organizing a district-wide tree planting initiative. If you’d like to receive free trees or help with planting, please share your contact information.
