Residents of East Sunset Heights started receiving notices on their front doors/gates of City of Houston’s intent to repave the roads running through the East Sunset Heights in late September ’24.

Actual work began promptly in early October, and completed in early December. Nearly all roads were re-paved except for a few streets that were repaved a few years ago.

The work involved scraping the old asphalt and re-laying a fresh layer.

Simultaneously, Houston Public Works started re-grading ditches where drainage was compromised.
